Terms of Use
These terms set out the agreement between you and ConciergeVet Ltd for your use of Sightline, our pain and quality-of-life tracking tool for dogs and cats. We have written them in plain English so you can see clearly what Sightline does, what it does not do, and what we each agree to. Please read them before you create an account.

In short
Sightline helps you record and track how your dog or cat is doing over time. It is a tracking and record-keeping tool, not a medical device, and it does not diagnose anything or replace your vet. You need to be 18 or over and based in the UK. There is a Free tier and a paid Sightline+ tier; your first Sightline Report is free. You keep your own data and you can ask us for a copy of it. If your pet is unwell or getting worse, contact your vet or an emergency service rather than relying on Sightline.
- Sightline is a tracking tool, not a diagnosis and not a substitute for veterinary advice.
- You must be 18 or over and using Sightline in the United Kingdom.
- Sign in is by magic link or Google; keep your access secure.
- Free tier plus Sightline+ at £4.99 a month or £39 a year, with your first Sightline Report free.
- You own your data; we own the platform.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
Who we are
Sightline is built and run by ConciergeVet Ltd, a veterinary company registered in England and Wales (company number 14501259), led by Alastair Greenway BVM&S MRCVS and Claire Greenway BVM&S MRCVS, with its registered office at Bretton, Wycombe Rd, Studley Green, Buckinghamshire HP14 3XA. In these terms, "Sightline", "we", "us" and "our" mean ConciergeVet Ltd and the Sightline platform. "You" means the person who holds the Sightline account.
What Sightline is, and what it is not
Sightline is a tool for owners to record and track signs of pain and changes in quality of life in their dog or cat over time. You answer structured questions about your pet, log notes and events, and Sightline turns these into trends, scores and a Sightline Report you can share with your vet. It is designed to help you notice change, organise your observations and have a better conversation with the professionals who care for your pet.
Sightline is not a medical or diagnostic device and it does not provide veterinary advice, diagnosis or treatment. It does not decide what is wrong with your pet, and it cannot replace an examination by a qualified vet. Everything Sightline shows you is informational and is there to support, not substitute, professional veterinary care.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create and use a Sightline account. Sightline is designed for owners in the United Kingdom, and our service, content and legal terms assume a UK setting. By creating an account you confirm that you are 18 or over and that you are using Sightline for your own pet or a pet in your care.
Your account
You sign in to Sightline without a password. We use either a magic link sent to your email address or sign-in with your Google account. There is no password to remember, but the link we email you grants access to your account, so treat it like a key. Do not forward your magic-link email to anyone, and keep your email account and your Google account secure with their own protections.
- Keep your sign-in email and Google account secure, and do not share magic-link emails with anyone.
- You are responsible for activity that takes place under your account.
- Tell us promptly at office@conciergevet.co.uk if you think someone else has gained access to your account.
- Sign-in links are time-limited and your session is held in a secure, time-limited cookie, but you should still sign out on shared devices.
Acceptable use
Sightline is for the genuine, lawful tracking of your own pet's wellbeing. We ask you to use it responsibly so that it stays safe and useful for everyone.
- Do not misuse the service, attempt to break or bypass its security, or interfere with how it works for others.
- Do not scrape, harvest, copy or bulk-extract data or content from the platform, and do not use automated systems to access it beyond normal personal use.
- Do not upload, enter or share anything unlawful, infringing, abusive or that you do not have the right to provide.
- Free-text notes, custom activity descriptions and report cover notes are your responsibility; only enter information you are comfortable storing and, where relevant, sharing with a vet.
- Do not impersonate anyone or enter another person's details without a proper basis for doing so.
If you save your vet's contact details so we can help you send a report, you confirm you are entitled to provide those details for that purpose.
The Sightline Score and Report
The Sightline Score is an internal composite that we calculate from the answers you give. It is informed by the published veterinary literature and by established quality-of-life and pain frameworks, and it is designed to summarise change over time in a single, readable measure. It is not itself a validated clinical instrument, and it is not a diagnosis. A score, band or trend is a prompt to look more closely and to talk to your vet, not a clinical conclusion.
The Sightline Report gathers your pet's recent scores, assessments and notes into a single document you can share with your vet. It is there to inform a conversation, not to replace one. Clinical judgement about your pet always rests with your own vet, who can examine your pet and knows their history.
Sightline's methodology is overseen by vets registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (MRCVS). That oversight describes how we design, review and maintain the way Sightline works in general. It is not, and must not be treated as, individual clinical advice about your particular pet. We do not form a vet-client relationship with you through Sightline, and using Sightline does not put a vet on call for your pet.
Plans and payment
Sightline has a Free tier that needs no card details. Sightline+ is our paid tier, available at £4.99 a month or £39 a year. Your first Sightline Report is free on any tier; Sightline+ unlocks ongoing Report sending and the wider paid features. There is no free trial: you choose Free or Sightline+, and you can move between them.
Payments for Sightline+ are handled by Stripe, our payments provider. Your card details are entered with Stripe and are never stored on Sightline's own systems; we keep only the customer and subscription identifiers Stripe gives us, along with your plan. You can manage your subscription, update your card and cancel at any time through the billing portal we link from your account, which opens your Stripe customer portal.
- Hospice features are always free, on every tier, because they should never sit behind a paywall.
- When you cancel, your Sightline+ access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and it is not renewed after that.
- Cancelling stops future charges; it does not on its own delete your account or your data.
We try to be fair about money. Sightline+ is a low-cost subscription, so as a rule we do not give refunds for time you have already had access to a paid plan, and a part-used month or year is not normally refundable. This does not affect your legal rights. If the service is faulty or not as described, or if you are otherwise entitled to a refund under UK consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations, those rights still apply and nothing in these terms takes them away. If you think something has gone wrong with a payment, contact us and we will look at it properly.
Intellectual property
Sightline owns the platform: the software, design, branding, the Sightline Score methodology and the way the service is presented. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Sightline for tracking your own pet's wellbeing while these terms apply. You may not copy, resell, reverse-engineer or build a competing product from Sightline.
You keep ownership of your own data: your pet's details, your answers, your notes and anything else you enter. We process that data to run the service for you, as set out in our Privacy Policy. We do not claim ownership of your data, and you can ask us for a copy of the data we hold for your account.
Third-party instruments and attributions
Some of Sightline's tools draw on established, published instruments created by others. We use them gratefully and credit them honestly. Their authors and licensors are not affiliated with Sightline and do not endorse it, and the original instruments remain the work of their creators.
- Feline Grimace Scale (FGS)
- Developed and validated by Marina C. Evangelista, Paulo V. Steagall and colleagues at the Université de Montréal (Evangelista et al., Scientific Reports, 2019). We use it under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence, with attribution to its creators.
- JOURNEYS Quality of Life Scale
- Created by Dr Katie Hilst, DVM (Journey's Home). We use it with attribution to support quality-of-life reflection.
- HHHHHMM Quality of Life Scale (Pawspice)
- Developed by Dr Alice Villalobos and used as a companion quality-of-life tool.
- Client-Specific Outcome Measures (CSOM)
- A recognised approach that lets you define and track activities that matter to your own pet.
Where an instrument has its own licence terms, those terms continue to apply to that instrument. Sightline's presentation of, and any scoring around, these tools is our own work and does not imply that the original authors have reviewed or approved how we use them.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Sightline is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We work hard to keep it accurate, available and useful, but we cannot promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every score or trend will be a complete picture of your pet's health. Because Sightline is a tracking tool and not a diagnostic device, we do not warrant that it will detect any particular condition or change in your pet.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for decisions you make based on Sightline, for any failure to seek veterinary advice when you should have, or for loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service. We are not responsible for the acts of the vets or other people you choose to share information with.
Changes to the service and these terms
Sightline is being actively developed, so we may add, change or remove features over time, and we may update these terms to keep them accurate or to reflect legal or service changes. When we make a significant change to these terms, we will update the date at the top and, where it matters, let you know. If you keep using Sightline after a change takes effect, that means you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree with a change, you can stop using Sightline and close your account.
Governing law and contact
These terms, and any dispute arising from them or from your use of Sightline, are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. This does not take away any protection you have under the consumer law of the part of the UK where you live.
If you have any questions about these terms, your account or your data, please get in touch and we will be glad to help.
Thank you for trusting Sightline with the care of your pet. If you are ever worried about how your dog or cat is doing, please speak to your own vet.
